The razor does have a gap between the board and your skin but it's very sharp and provided a close shave. The razor does start snagging my skin by the third use.

Sorry to hear about the snagging you're experiencing by the third use though - that definitely doesn't sound right. For the best performance, we recommend replacing the blade cartridge after 5-7 shaves or when you start to feel any tugging or snagging, as this usually means the blade has dulled.
