• Announcing a partnership between Flamingo and Girl Scouts to transform the way girls think about their body - pictured on a green background surrounded by Girl Scout badges.

We partnered with Girl Scouts to develop a Body Appreciation program to build confidence, practice self-care, and develop lifelong positive habits.

Through this innovative new program, Girl Scouts learn skills that will help them appreciate the functions and abilities of their bodies, to embrace their authenticity, and celebrate what makes them—and others—unique.

How We Got Here

Since Flamingo and Girl Scouts of the USA partnered in 2023, we've uncovered data highlighting just how vital body appreciation is for today's girls. This research underscores the need for programs that build confidence and promote healthy self-perception.

Here's what the data reveals:

36% of girls ages 5-13 report hearing women around them speak negatively about their own bodies.

While an overwhelming 96% of girls say they like the way they look, 37% still wish they could change something about their appearance. This number jumps to 50% among girls ages 11-13.

Body Appreciation Badges

Through fun, age-appropriate activities, this new program will support Girl Scouts at each stage of their development. Along the way, they'll explore how to set healthy boundaries and respond thoughtfully to pressures from society, media, and peers—all while learning how to lift others up and create a culture of kindness and respect.

OUR SOCIAL MISSION

Why Flamingo Cares

At Flamingo, we hold our brand promise to champion women at the heart of everything we do. Since launching in 2018, we have proudly donated to and partnered with nonprofit organizations working to ensure women and girls build healthy relationships with their bodies. Research shows that girl's confidence drops by 30% between ages 8-14 when their bodies start to change. That's why we're proud to partner with The Girl Scouts, who is on a mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, making them the perfect partner to help us reach girls and boost their confidence and self-esteem from an early age.
