How to Wax at Home

Note: not for internal use or Brazilian waxing.

Beginner? Start Here

Waxing your own bikini line at home comes with a learning curve. If it’s your first time, practice on your arms or legs first. Once you’ve got a hang of it, move on to pubic hair. But always: start small and work your way from the outside in.

Your Best Wax in 3 Steps

  • Clean and Dry Your Skin Before Waxing
Before you begin, clean and dry your skin so that the wax can easily stick to your hair and work its magic. Also, our wax works best at room temperature, so make sure it’s been stored in a cool, dry place.
  • Rub the Wax Strip In
Place the wax strip where you want to remove hair and rub the wax firmly into the hair, in the direction it grows. Pull skin as taut as possible with one hand (for your bikini line, try reaching underneath your thigh and pull the skin from there).
  • Pull Quickly and Close
Use your other hand to pull the strip in the opposite direction of hair growth, quickly and close to the skin.
REMEMBER

Confidence is Key

The number one cause of a bad waxing session is hesitating when you pull the wax strip (don’t be scared!), resulting in hair left behind and sticky skin. So put on some music, do a few practice pulls on your leg, and picture the smooth results awaiting you. You’ve got this!
