What To Expect After Pubic Waxing

Great job, you did it! Now let’s recover.

Expect Slight Irritation

Your pubic area is more sensitive than other parts of your body. It’s normal for your skin to be irritated for up to 24 hours after waxing. If you’re fair skinned, you’ll probably be a little red. If you bleed a little or bruise, do not be alarmed (every hair follicle is attached to a blood vessel).

Pro tip: make sure your skin is pulled taut and you’re pulling close to the skin to better avoid irritation next time.

But Not Too Much Irritation

Talk to your doctor if you’re experiencing sustained bleeding after waxing.

Wear Comfy Undies

Super tight underwear or bathing suits can further irritate your skin. Wear something comfortable to help your skin breathe.

Stay Out of the Sun

Wait 12-24 hours before hitting the beach or pool. Since waxing makes your skin temporarily sensitive, UV rays, salt and chlorine can cause irritation.
